Fattoria I Sassoli

Cultivating tradition
since 1313.

One hundred organically farmed hectares in the hills around Florence.

The estate

Four hills between the Roveta woods
and the river Pesa.

Vineyards and wheat fields alternate across four hills looking towards Florence. At the heart of the estate stand the two farm buildings and, just to the south, the tower that has watched over the valley for seven centuries.

Our history

From the deed of 1313
to the estate of today.

That is how a notarial deed described it in 1313: “a house with a portico and a plot of land”. Six centuries later, in 1911, there were eleven farms, and the fields gave wheat, oats and the straw that farm women plaited for hats.

Today Fattoria I Sassoli is an organic estate of one hundred hectares: high-density vineyards for Chianti Colli Fiorentini, heritage wheat for pasta and flour, and an ancient cellar where the wine matures in oak casks.
